We offer frameless glass splash panels and thermostatic valve packages. Our team provides slope and drainage planning alongside pre-tile leak testing, delivering open shower rooms that stay dry for Scottsdale homes and genuinely watertight results for both residential and commercial projects. Backed by an Arizona ROC licensed, bonded and insured contracting team, we have completed kitchen and bathroom projects of every size, from compact wet rooms to full open master suites.

From recessing a floor structure so the finished tile lands flush with the hallway to running a single fall to a linear drain so the tile plane stays flat, our team handles every detail. Serving Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Carefree and Fountain Hills, we deliver meticulous, watertight, professional work on every wet room.

What a Wet Room Is

A wet room is a bathroom with no internal raised or dedicated shower area. There is no curb, no tray, no enclosure, and often no door. The entire floor is waterproofed and graded toward the drain, so the shower zone and the rest of the room are one continuous surface.

It is a different construction approach from a standard shower, not a finish choice. A conventional shower contains water inside a raised pan. A wet room accepts that water goes everywhere and waterproofs everywhere accordingly.

Why people want them:

  • The floor tile runs uninterrupted, which makes a small bathroom look substantially larger
  • Nothing to step over, which is the best accessibility feature available
  • No enclosure to clean, no tracks, no seals, no glass to squeegee
  • It is the current high-end look, and it photographs beautifully

Why they fail: a wet room done cheaply is the worst outcome in bathroom remodeling. There is no curb as a backstop and no pan to catch a failure, so a mistake in the membrane or the slope does not stay in the shower. It goes into the room, the framing, and the ceiling below.

This is a project where the contractor matters more than the tile.

How We Build One

Recess the floor structure. The wet room floor has to finish level with the adjacent floor while still sloping to the drain, which means the structure underneath is dropped. On a slab-on-grade house this can mean cutting and recessing the slab, which is the main structural cost.

Set the drain and the fall. A linear drain against one wall lets the entire floor fall in a single direction. That is easier to tile flat, looks cleaner and drains faster than a four-way slope to a center point. Slope has to be continuous across the whole run, because a low spot on a curbless floor does not just pool, it sends water toward the door.

Waterproof everything. A bonded membrane over the substrate across the full floor and every wet wall, taken well beyond the shower zone, with no gaps at any transition. Tile is not waterproof and grout is porous, so the membrane is doing all of the work. Corners, changes of plane, the bench and any niche are reinforced.

Leak test. Before a single tile. On a wet room this is not optional and we will not skip it.

Tile. Large-format porcelain with matching grout on the floor and walls for a continuous read. Textured or smaller-format tile in the shower zone where traction matters.

Contain the splash. A frameless glass panel, a half wall or simply enough distance. A wet room does not need a door, but it does need the toilet paper somewhere it will not get wet, and that is a layout decision.

Keep the room warm and dry. An exhaust fan sized for the room and vented outside, and usually a heated floor, which dries the tile quickly and makes a hard floor comfortable.

Wet Room Conversion Cost in Scottsdale

Estimated ranges.

Wet Room Conversion Cost in Scottsdale
ScopeEstimated RangeNotes
Compact wet room, existing drain location$25,000 to $42,000Floor recessed, full waterproofing, tile, fixtures
Standard wet room conversion$35,000 to $60,000Linear drain, glass panel, heated floor
Master suite wet room$55,000 to $110,000Larger footprint, slab work, stone, dual heads
Wet room with layout changes$70,000 to $150,000+Walls move, fixtures relocate, slab trenching

Cost drivers: recessing the floor structure, which on a slab is real concrete work; linear drain and the run to the existing drain line; the extended waterproofed area, which is considerably larger than a conventional shower; and heated floor, which is far cheaper included now than retrofitted.

Is a Wet Room Right for Your Bathroom?

Honest answers.

Good candidates. Small bathrooms, where the continuous floor is transformative. Accessible projects, where curbless is the goal anyway. Master suites with enough room to keep the toilet and vanity out of the splash zone. Ground-floor bathrooms, where a failure has less to damage.

Think carefully. Upper-floor bathrooms over finished space, where the consequences of a failure are higher. Condos, where the ceiling below belongs to a neighbor. Bathrooms where the only toilet would sit in the splash zone. Houses where a tub is being removed and it is the only one.

We will tell you which you have before you spend anything.

Why Homeowners Trust Us With Wet Rooms

Arizona ROC licensed, bonded and insured, with general liability coverage in force. A waterproofing system named in the estimate as its own line item. A leak test before tile that you are welcome to witness. In-house tile crews who can hold a flat plane across a continuous fall, which is the skill this job actually requires. And an honest assessment of whether your bathroom is a good candidate, including when the answer is no.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a wet room conversion cost in Scottsdale?

Estimated $35,000 to $60,000 for a standard conversion and $55,000 to $110,000 for a master suite. Compact wet rooms using an existing drain location start around $25,000.

What is the difference between a wet room and a curbless shower?

A curbless shower still has a defined shower zone, usually with glass. A wet room has no dedicated shower area at all: the whole room is waterproofed and graded. In practice the construction is similar and the waterproofing standard is the same.

Does the whole bathroom get wet?

Less than people expect, if it is laid out properly. Distance, a glass splash panel or a half wall keep the toilet and vanity zone dry. The point is that the room is built to tolerate water anywhere, not that water goes everywhere.

Is it harder to waterproof than a normal shower?

Considerably. There is no curb as a backstop and no pan to catch a failure, the waterproofed area is much larger, and the slope has to be right across the whole floor. It is the reason cheap wet rooms fail and expensive ones do not.

Do I need a door?

No. Most wet rooms have none. You do need enough distance or a glass panel so the splash zone and the dry zone are actually separate.

Will the floor be slippery?

Not if the tile is specified for it. Textured large-format or smaller-format tile in the shower zone gives traction through more grout joints, which is one place where smaller tile is technically better.

Can I put a wet room on a second floor?

Yes, and we build them, but the consequences of a failure are higher over finished space. It raises the standard of workmanship required rather than ruling it out, and we will be direct about that.

How long does a wet room conversion take?

Five to eight weeks of construction, plus ordering. Recessing a slab adds about a week including cure time.
