What a Full Kitchen Remodel Includes
A full remodel replaces everything in the room rather than refreshing the surface. Cabinets, countertops, backsplash, sink and faucet, flooring, lighting, electrical, plumbing and appliances all come out and go back in as one coordinated job.
That matters in Scottsdale because of the housing stock. Central Scottsdale and the Shea Corridor were built mainly in the 1970s, and a kitchen from that era was wired for a range, a refrigerator and not much else. Induction cooktops, second ovens, beverage refrigerators and undercabinet lighting all land on a panel that was never sized for them. A surface refresh leaves that problem in place. A full remodel fixes it.
The scope we quote covers:
- Demolition and haul-away, with dust containment up before anything comes down
- Electrical rework, added circuits and panel evaluation
- Plumbing rework for sink, dishwasher and any relocated fixture
- Framing changes for new openings, soffits or a removed non-bearing wall
- Cabinet supply and installation, stock through full custom
- Countertop template, fabrication and installation
- Backsplash, flooring, paint, trim and hardware
- Appliance installation and final connection
- Permits and inspections
Full Kitchen Remodel Cost in Scottsdale
Estimated ranges. Your number depends on the house, not on a price list.
| Tier | Estimated Range | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | $35,000 to $55,000 | Stock cabinets, engineered quartz, stock appliances, existing layout |
| Mid-range | $55,000 to $90,000 | Semi-custom cabinets, upgraded quartz or granite, new lighting plan |
| Upper-mid | $90,000 to $150,000 | Custom cabinets, natural stone, panel-ready appliances |
| Luxury | $150,000 to $400,000+ | Full millwork, exotic slabs, structural changes, integrated systems |
What actually moves the number: whether the sink, range or refrigerator relocates, because moving plumbing and gas on a slab-on-grade house means trenching. Whether the panel needs upgrading. Cabinet tier, since full custom carries four or more weeks of shop lead time. And slab selection, where a single exotic stone can cost more than an entire run of engineered quartz.
Insist on a line-item estimate. Cabinets, slab, labor, electrical, permits and allowances should each be their own line.
How Long It Takes
Six to ten weeks of construction for a standard full remodel once materials are on site. The calendar that matters starts earlier: custom cabinetry adds four or more weeks of shop time before demolition, and slab is templated to installed cabinets, never before.
We order first and demolish second. Tearing out a working kitchen and then waiting on a cabinet delivery is the most common way a remodel turns into a four-month project.
| Phase | Typical duration |
|---|---|
| Design, selections, ordering | 2 to 4 weeks |
| Cabinet shop lead time | 1 week stock, 4+ weeks custom |
| Demolition and rough-in | 1 to 2 weeks |
| Cabinet installation | 3 to 6 days |
| Countertop template to install | 10 to 14 days |
| Backsplash, trim, finish, punch | 1 to 2 weeks |
The Decisions That Shape the Project
Layout. Keeping the existing plumbing and gas locations is the single biggest cost saver available. If the layout genuinely does not work, changing it is worth doing properly rather than half way.
Cabinets. Stock arrives in about a week in fixed widths. Semi-custom modifies those sizes. Full custom is scribed to walls that are not square, which most Scottsdale houses over thirty years old are not. Frameless European boxes give you more room inside: a 12-inch frameless cabinet takes a 10-inch drawer where a face-frame box of the same width fits 8.5.
Countertops. Engineered quartz is roughly 93% aggregate to 7% polyester resin by weight, non-porous, never needs sealing, and sits at 7 on the Mohs hardness scale against marble's 3. Its weakness is direct heat, since the resin lacks UV stability and keeps hardening with age. Granite and quartzite handle heat better and need an impregnating sealer every five to ten years.
Appliances. Order them before cabinets are built. A panel-ready refrigerator and a standard one need different openings, and finding that out at installation is expensive.
Related Services
If your boxes are sound and only the doors are dated, refacing existing boxes costs a fraction of a full remodel. If the surfaces are the only problem, look at countertop fabrication. If the footprint itself is wrong, see kitchen additions or connecting kitchen and great room. Every full remodel starts with layout planning and renderings.
Service Areas
We remodel kitchens throughout Scottsdale, ZIP codes 85250 through 85269, from Old Town north along Scottsdale Road and Hayden Road through the Shea Corridor to DC Ranch and Desert Mountain. We also work Paradise Valley kitchens, Arcadia in Phoenix, and Cave Creek. See Scottsdale Kitchen Remodeling Pros.
Why Homeowners Hire Us for Full Remodels
Arizona ROC licensed, bonded and insured, with general liability coverage in force, certificate on request. Written line-item estimates. In-house cabinet and stone crews rather than a rotating cast of subs, which is what keeps a ten-week job on a ten-week schedule. Fixed start dates we hold. Dust barriers, floor protection and daily cleanup, because almost everyone lives in the house while we work.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a full kitchen remodel cost in Scottsdale?
Estimated ranges run $35,000 to $90,000 for entry through mid-range work and $90,000 to $400,000 or more for upper-mid and luxury scopes. The layout, the cabinet tier and the slab drive most of the difference.
How long will I be without a kitchen?
Six to ten weeks of construction. We can usually rig a temporary sink and refrigerator station so you are not eating out the whole time.
Do you offer free estimates for full kitchen remodel?
Yes. In-home measurement and a written line-item estimate at no cost and no obligation.
Are you licensed and insured for full kitchen remodel work?
Yes. We are Arizona ROC licensed and carry general liability insurance, with a certificate available on request.
Do you pull the permits for a full kitchen remodel?
Yes. Structural, electrical and plumbing changes require a City of Scottsdale permit, and applications and inspections are part of our contract.
Can I keep my existing layout to save money?
Yes, and it is the biggest single saving available. Leaving the sink, range and refrigerator where they are avoids trenching a slab and rerouting gas.
Do I need to upgrade my electrical panel?
Often, on a 1970s house. We evaluate the panel at estimate rather than discovering it at rough-in.
Can I live in the house during the remodel?
Most clients do. Dust containment goes up first and the site gets cleaned daily.

Work that pairs with this
Clients comparing options usually read measured drawings and renderings alongside this page, and cabinetry built to your dimensions comes up often enough to be worth a look before you decide. If the scope turns out to be broader than one room, outdoor kitchen work in Scottsdale is the wider version of the same conversation.
We also handle condo bathroom remodeling and basement bath construction. Combining a kitchen and a bathroom into one contract is easier to sequence and cheaper to mobilize than running them a year apart.
